Use your skills in graphic design to promote Saltmine events and shows. Our new graphic design position is unique because it offers an exciting career development path. Not only will you increase your portfolio by producing Saltmine's publications, but you'll also be encouraged to build your own client base with a view to the position becoming full-time employed at the end of your year.

Technician

What you will do:
Gain experience in sound, lighting and video as you technically support Saltmine's touring theatre companies. As a member of technical services you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians, you will learn new things about sound, lighting and video equipment and be challenged to apply that knowledge along with your present skills in a theatrical environment.

Administrator

What you will do:
Become part of the administrative team that facilitates and makes possible all of the work that Saltmine does. You will have plenty of opportunities to develop your communication and IT skills as well as your creativity, as you help book theatre tours and liase with Saltmine supporters and bookers. 
What we are looking for:
We are looking for people who are creative, efficient and willing to take initiative and who can use their organisational skills to work alongside our experienced administrative team.

A successful applicant to the Year Out Programme is expected to pay a £600 fee to Saltmine up front; this covers accommodation for the year. This accommodation is available to all applicants in shared Dudley based housing. You will also need a minimum £175/month to live on. This personal support whilst paid to Saltmine (preferably in standing orders - or monthly pledged donations) goes back to the individual through fortnightly payments of £80 helping them to support themselves with food etc. while working with the Trust.
Saltmine Trust will help all successful applicants to raise this personal support, providing them with the advice and resources necessary. This will include a fundraising visit from a current Saltmine member to your home church.

Saltmine is committed to the professional and spiritual growth of each Year Out person. It is important to us that each successful applicant is appropriately supported and encouraged spiritually and to facilitate this, Saltmine has a pastoral team who will look after each Year Out according to their needs and desires. Upon arrival the first week, there will be individual pastoral interviews. A member of the pastoral team will be available throughout the year and each Year Out worker will be contacted every 4 - 6 weeks by someone on the team.

All teams will be based in Dudley, West Midlands but actors and technicians will operate both locally and nationally in schools, on mission and for one-off events.
