chainbreakersIn partnership with Regents Theological College we are continuing a new course that will intergrate core modules from their existing theology degree with exciting new and practical modules from the world of performing arts.

The course leader is Richard Hasnip MA an experienced actor, writer, director and member of Saltmine Theatre Company. Working for Regents full time, he will be heading up the performing arts modules on the course.

Course modules in year 1 include:

Core Modules Elective Modules New Modules for 2010 - 2011
Old Testament Acting Techniques Community Theatre
New Testament Devised Theatre Movement
Christian Doctrine Jesus in Film Writing
Christian Foundations History of Christian Theatre Ethics and Performance

Alongside these taught modules there will be placement opportunities with Saltmine and workshops with a wide range of Christian artists.

This course gives students great teaching from the best in Christian performance with strong links with a professional company, as well as experience of live performance in a range of styles while also gaining theological training from some world renowned theologians. This should give the successful graduate a deep theology and a rich performance vocabulary with which to express it – ideal for someone entering a multicultural post-modern world.
