In a broken country, a desperate nation waits impatiently for a saviour, but when at last a man appears, the revolution he offers is one of hearts and minds and his concern is for the poor, the broken and the lost. Appalled by his words and afraid of his deeds the powers of the land decree – Jesus must die.
In this remarkable modern retelling of the gospel of Luke, a driven writer seeks to piece together the true story of Jesus and his quest to the save the lost. Through news and documentary footage and through encounters with key witnesses he gains a unique insight into Jesus’ life, death and what happened next.
Three Witnesses is written and produced by Saltmine in partnership with UCCF: The Christian Unions as part of the Uncover gospel campaign.

Response for this production : "Love Struck makes us realise that traffiking is not a problem on someone else's doorstep but it is taking place in our own neighbourhood, and that we need to stay alert to it. I was amazed by this production" (Audience member at premiere performance, Calvary Church)
"Love Struck was fantastic. Traffiking is such a difficult subject to be dealing with, and I thought the way they conveyed the depth of the issue in the play was so creative - people were definitely left inspired rather than just overwhelmed" (Rebecca Rubanik, Community Action Project Officer, Stop the Traffik)
"This Saltmine production should be used in ALL our schools and colleges" (Conference Delegate, CSE Conference in Dudley)

In Their Shoes
In Partnership with Ulfah Arts
Ulfah Arts (a Muslim theatre company) and Saltmine (a Christian theatre company) have collaborated to produce a play that promotes taking part and working together in spite of our differences. This play that promotes unity in diversity is suitable for primary schools and all-age community events.
The Spots hate the Stripes and the Stripes hate the Spots and that’s how its always been. They’re sworn enemies on the racetrack, the football field and the streets they live on. But things may be about to change! Join one Stripe on her journey to get away from the Spot that lives next door. As she meets people from all over the world and spends some time in their shoes she begins to see life and Spots a little differently!
The project wonderfully models the theme it is promoting as the two theatre companies uniquely combine to produce a play that is itself an example of what can be achieved when two different people come together and use their abilities for the same goal.
"We commissioned 'In Their Shoes' to be delivered in 18 primary schools in Dudley Borough in Spring 2011, and the feedback that we received from students and from teachers was very positive, with the show bringing out many useful teaching and learning points. I attended a performance and was impressed with the high quality of the production in terms of the content and of the performances of the actors, I was also very impressed with the fact that students were engaged throughout the performance and participated enthusiastically in the workshop that followed." (John Hodt, Principal Policy Officer, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council) |
Cost: £550 for full day, £275 for a half day.
Tour dates 3rd - 7th June 2013 For more information please contact Joanna Bell on 01384 454807 or email: creative@saltmine.org
