Application deadlines
Applications will be taken until May 17th 2013. Once we receive your application form we will let you know whether or not we would like you to attend first auditions. There are two options for first auditions. Anybody applying before December 14th 2012 will be considered for the auditions taking place in January 2013. Any applicants after this will be considered for the auditions taking place in June 2013.
Only under certain circumstances will applications be taken after the cut-off date and an enquiry should be made to the Saltmine office as soon as possible if this is the case for you.
Each applicant will be informed via email/letter whether or not they have been shortlisted to the first auditions. An audition time and date will be given in that email/letter and should the applicant not be able to meet that, alternative arrangements must be made as soon as possible.
First Auditions/Interviews
For first auditions the following will need to be prepared:
Two contrasting monologues of between 2-3 minutes each. This can be your own or someone else’s material.
Second Auditions/Interviews
If you are successful at first audition/interview whether you attend in January or June you will be asked to attend second auditions/interviews in early July. Included in the invitation to second auditions will be fundraiser information.
The following will need to be prepared for second auditions/interviews:
A 5 minute drama game/exercise that teaches a point. You will lead this game as part of a drama workshop in which all the applicants will take part.
Two contrasting pieces from Saltmine Theatre Company’s current repertoire. These will be sent to you with your second audition/interview invitation letter.
All second auditions/interviews will be required to produce a paper (no longer than single-sided A4) on how you intend to fundraise your money for the year – the £600 up front and £175 in standing orders (monthly donations).
Nominations
Nominations for successful applicants will happen right after the second auditions and you will be notified by letter as soon as possible.
Regents Weekend
The successful interns will be invited to Saltmine’s holiday weekend at Regents Theological College which is 23rd August – 26th August. This will be a good opportunity to meet the rest of the Saltmine team and to be introduced to Saltmine supporters.
2013 Dates
The Internship will begin shortly after the Regents weekend and there will be time allocated for interns to move into Saltmine accommodation at the beginning of September. The finish date of the internship will be the end of August 2014.
